Aesthetics & Android! (Kishan Vellappan)

Aesthetics are a very important subject when it comes to deciding the products we are going to buy, as what we perceive looks good will usually lead us to buying it. This is no different when it comes to purchasing phones; the phone was fit well in our hands, bags, pockets, be slim and visually pleasing. Gone are the days of big bulky phones..

iPhones are known for their simple but effective styling where as androids can vary vastly. In recent times however, the standardisation of designs have seen the implementation of a lone home button on the face of the phone, with additional buttons featured on the sides.

Manufacturers are using materials and features such as screen size as selling points along with other niche features like fingerprint scanners. Based on these small differences, the consumer selects usually the one that best suits their needs.

Humans are very superficial people and therefore carefully monitor the appearance of everything they buy. Not all consumers are caught up with the specification sheets and the capabilities. Therefore android based devices must incorporate visually pleasing devices to remain ahead of the competition.
